The Wonderful Visit. Journey in Italy On The Footsteps Of Nino Rota (2011)
Sobre o filme
The documentary is an amalgam of memories caught in a journey through Italy, formed by interviews with people who knew, worked with or studied with the composer. On July, 2009, in a 1970’ motor home, the crew left Milan to Bari looking for people acquainted to Rota. Among the interviewees are Academy Award winner Nicola Piovani, composer of Life is Beautiful, 1997, 22nd Mostra; Manos Hatzidakis, who composed the theme song for Never on Sunday, 1960; Michelle Marvulli, one of his best students at the Bari’ conservatory; and Pier Luigi Pizzi, Franco Zeffirelli’ Romeo and Juliet (1968) scenographer, for which Rota composed the musical score.
