Life seems to be going well for 29-year-old Mira. She has a loving husband, Tarik, two children, and recently took ownership of a local supermarket franchise, thanks to an interest-free loan from Robert, her mother’s ex-partner. But shortly after receiving the money, Tarik loses nearly all of it in a shady cryptocurrency scam. Unable to bring herself to tell Robert what happened, Mira begins weaving a web of half-truths and outright lies that soon turns her calm, contented life into one of increasing chaos. Her bourgeois mother offers little in the way of support, for she’s of the belief that Mira settled for less by working in retail, and marrying a former rapper. And just like that, her life becomes a fight to keep everything from crumbling.
