
Writer-director Ted Evans is from Hackney, East London and communicates in both spoken English and British Sign Language. In 2012, he co-wrote and directed two films for the Paralympic Opening Ceremony, “Look Up” and “Bird Gherl”. He received international and critical acclaim for his award-winning shorts “The End” (2011), “To Know Him” (2018) and “Retreat” (2013), the latter of which inspired his debut feature film. He also directed the documentary “Rose Ayling-Ellis: Signs for Change” (2023), which was presented at the Sheffield’s Doc Fest and earned him a BAFTA nomination.
