
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1960, she directed some short movies such as “História Familiar” (1988) and “Viver a Vida” (1991). She made her debut in feature film direction in 1996 with “A Starry Sky”. Tata then directed “Através da Janela” (2000), “Antonia” (2006, 31st Mostra), “Today” (2013), “Bring It Inside” (2016), “Express Kidnapping” (2018, 42nd Mostra) and “As Protagonistas” (2019, 43rd Mostra). Her films have been screened and awarded at film festivals such as Berlin, Biarritz, Havana, Rotterdam, Toronto, and Gothenburg.
