Born in Portugal in 1974. He studied film at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema and, in 1998, founded the production company O Som e a Fúria. In addition to several short films, he directed the features “A Zona” (2008, 32th Mostra) and “Mariphasa” (2018). His films have been screened and awarded at festivals such as Venice, Locarno, Oberhausen, and IndieLisboa, and his work has been the subject of retrospectives at the Rotterdam, New York, and Buenos Aires film festivals.
