Born in Tehran, Iran, in 1989. After graduating from Soore University, Roustaee made his directorial debut in 2011 with the short film “Monday”. He directed the feature films “Life and a Day” (2016), “Just 6.5” (2019, 43th Mostra), presented at the Venice International Film Festival and awarded at the Tokyo International Film Festival, and “Leila’s Brothers” (2022, 46th Mostra), winner of the critics’ prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
