
Born in Roxbury, USA, in 1962. She is an actress, writer and filmmaker. Miller made the feature films “Angela” (1995), winner of the Filmmakers Trophy at the Sundance Film Festival, and “Personal Velocity” (2002), presented at the Locarno Film Festival and winner of the grand jury prize also at Sundance. She also directed “The Ballad of Jack and Rose” (2005), “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” (2009), “Maggie’s Plan” (2015), and “She Came to Me” (2023), all of them presented at Mostra. She also directed the documentary “Arthur Miller: Writer” (2017). Several of her films are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). She is also a painter and author of short story collections and novels.
