
She grew up in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and studied Art History at Leiden University. She then directed short documentaries for Amnesty International and various broadcasters. In her award-winning career are the documentaries “I Never Meant to Be Famous” (2005), “Carmen meets Borat” (2008), premiered at the IDFA and won Best Documentary in St. Petersburg, in addition to being the official Dutch submission to the Oscars, “Karsu” (2012) and “Mijn Grote Broer” (2023).
