She is an actress, director and writer who was born in Torreón, Mexico, in 1989. Mayra Hermosillo moved to Mexico City, where she studiedacting and worked with directors like Alejandra Márquez Abella,Alejandro Guzmán, Iván Ávila, Luis Estrada, Amat Escalante, HumbertoHinojosa, Rodrigo Plá and Michel Grau. She also participated in the TVseries “Narcos: Mexico” (2020-2021). In 2018, she wrote and co-directedher first short film, “En la Piel de Lucía”, which was presented, amongothers, at the Guadalajara International Film Festival and at festivalsin the USA, Canada, and Cuba, receiving awards in France and Spain.“Vainilla” is her debut feature film.
