
Born in Créteil, France, in 1989, Maureen is a filmmaker and screenwriter based in Lisbon. She studied literature, art and cinema at Denis Diderot University, in Paris. She directed the medium-length “Motu Maeva” (2014) and the short films “Black Sun” (2019) and “Les Habitants (2025), presented in film festivals like Toronto, Mar del Plata, DocLisboa, FIDMarseille, Cinéma du Réel and FICValdivia. Her work has also been screened in cinematheques and museums. She divides her time between individual projects and collaborations with Miguel Gomes as casting director and screenwriter, with whom she directed her first
feature film, “The Tsugua Diaries” (2021), exhibited at the 45th Mostra and in the Director’s Fortnight at Cannes. “The Seasons” is her second feature film.
