As an actor, Shear has appeared in films such as “Mistress America” (2015, 39th Mostra) and “The Meyerowitz Stories” (2017), both directed by Noah Baumbach, “The Boy Downstairs” (2017), by Sophie Brooks, “Old” (2021), by M. Night Shyamalan, and “Between the Temples” (2024, 48th Mostra), by Nathan Silver. He was also part of the cast of the miniseries “The Alienist” (2018–2022). Matthew Shear “Fantasy Life” marks Shear’s directorial debut.
