
Born in Cornwall, England, he won the BAFTA for Outstanding Debut for a British Writer, Director, or Producer with “Bait” (2010). His follow-up, “Enys Men” (2022), premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, and won a British Independent Film Award for sound design. His prolific short film output includes “Vertical Shapes in a Horizontal Landscape” (2018), “A Dog Called Discord” (2023), and “I Saw the Face of God in the Jet Wash” (2025).
