
Born in Höfn, Iceland, in 1984. He started out as a visual artist and evolved his career later into filmmaking by pursuing an education at the Danish National Film School, which he graduated from in 2013 with the award-winning short “A Painter”. He made the feature films “Winter Brothers” (2017, 41st Mostra), awarded at the Locarno Film Festival, “A White, White Day” (2019, 43rd Mostra), awarded at the Cannes’ Critics Week, and “Godland” (2022), presented at the 46th Mostra and in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
