
Born in Switzerland. He has developed his own brand of cinema essay, exploring the art of filmmaking and its practitioners. Most of his films take on the role of unpacking the most influential works of master filmmakers, and dissecting seminal screen moments. Among his works are the films ”The People vs. George Lucas” (2010), “Doc of the Dead” (2014), “78/52” (2017), “Memory - The Origins of Alien” (2019, 43rd Mostra) and “Chain Reactions” (2024), winner of Venice Classics Award for Best Documentary on Cinema. His short movie “Left” (2006) was exhibited at the 30th Mostra.
