Nasceu em 1969 na Alemanha Oriental. Desde 1994, atua em filmes, peças de teatro e séries de TV, além de escrever peças e roteiros para a televisão. Dirigiu e escreveu as peças The Chancelor and the Collection of Göring (2006) e No woman wants to be the other one (2009). Os Dispensáveis é seu primeiro longa-metragem.
