Falling Down Stairs (Yo-Yo-Ma, Inspired by Bach)This film records the long year cellist Yo-Yo Ma spent working with choreographer Mark Morris and the fourteen members of the Mark Morris Dance Group that culminated in a spectacular performance conceived especially for Suite Number 3 for Cello Solo.Falling Down Stairs moves with Mark and Yo-Yo from city to city, documenting collaboration, intimacy, and sincerity in one of the rarest of creative experiences.The film has its highlights with Yo-Yo Ma recording the studio track and presentation of Mark Morris’s final choreography exclusively for the cameras of the production.

Barbara Willis Sweete

Barbara Willis Sweete graduated in Languages by York University and is acknowledged as an outstanding Canadian director in films on dance and choreography. Her previous film Dido & Aeneas was made, equally, with the collaboration of choreographer Mark Morris. Tale of Tanglewood: Peter Grimes Reborn, with maestro Seiji Ozawa is her most recent film.
