DEEP CRIMSON

Mexico/ France/ Spain

Vermelho SangueThe passionate virtuoso of Arturo Ripstein reaches a peak here. Warm colors, torrid love affairs, a delightful corruptela of classic Mexican melodrama thaat spread worldwide in the forties. This is his speciality. The characters of the tragicomedy vascillate between a world of dreams and sordid reality. Disillusion and abandonment, tragic and deceived, treachery and seduction blend with fleeting emotion and terrible symbols such as orphanages, doubles of famous actors and lonely hearts clubs.
