A kind of incestuous version of Bonnie & Clyde that tells the story of brother and sister Marty and Carol Lakewood. The pact between them begins when they witness their father catching the mother with a lover in bed and attempting to kill them - the man dies; the mother survives, covered in scars. As from then, they decide to devote themselves one to the other for life, against the ills of what they describe as a "shattered world". As adults, living in a small city on the coast of California, they become partners in murders, to the despair of the mother who still has hopes that they will change their course in life. All in vain: the two of them carry on ahead on a criminal trail as always.

Michael Oblowitz

Born in Capetown, in South Africa. After studying Philosophy at the local university, he graduated in cinema by Columbia University in the U.S. He made several videoclips for some of the best known names in international show business such as David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Diana Ross, Carly Simon, Carole King, Santana, and John Lee Hooker. This World, Then the Fireworks is his first feature.
