a minister of State who is there to advance agrarian
reform. This is a dream to the residents, with the
exception of land-owner Antti Neia who decides he will
defend his properties at any cost, even if this is to
mean killing the intruder. Safeguarded by the village
and, in especial, by beautiful Marit, in love, he carries
his plans ahead.
His farse is brought down
when a second stranger arrives on site and discovers that
he is a fraud. An ex-convict, the new foreigner
blackmails the false minister, obliging him to assist him
in extracting money from the villagers. However,
friendship and trust shown by those at the site cause him
to behave with dignity and honesty.
