Late Full MoonZahariev, Bulgarian director who died a few months after the filming. The main character is an old man played by Itzko Fintzi, his favorite actor and great friend. He is a man facing difficulties with the times in which he lives and with the process of aging. He is perplexed by a world peopled by nouveau riche, business men, beggars, and immigrants.He has a difficult relationship with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. These are persons that are quite different in every respect, that barely put up with each other. The son tries to do well at his job and in life, but does not meet with support or understanding from his father. He also can not understand the old man and generates unbearable situations at home.The old man is sent to an old people’s home from whence he escapes to find himself on a dangerous adventure. He decides to rob a bank together with two new companions and a woman who is in love with him. The plan does not come off, but he finds a way to help his son, even if it is for the last time.

Edward Zahariev

Edward Zahariev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1908 and died in June, 1996. Graduated by the Budapest School of Cinema, Hungary, in 1961, where he was a colleague of Istvan Szabó (Director of Mephisto). The following year he made Railway in the Sky, the first of his much-praised documentaries, awarded the Gold Rose at the Festival of Varna. In 1966, he made his first fiction feature with If a Train Isn’t Coming.Zahariev directed over 14 feature films, such as Counting of the Hares (1973), A Cottage Area (1975), Time For Men (1977) e Elegy (1982).
