A SELF MADE HEROabsurdities of war are the starting point for this story inspired in the novel by Jean-François Deniau. The action takes place in France, in the last year of World War II, when it was impossible to tell truth from lies. It is within this scenario that a young man decides to make a change in life. The son of a collaborator, later married to a wealthy girl, he decides to become a war hero by creating an admirable past for himself, very different from his true reality. He leaves the city where he lives and goes to Paris where he embarks on his trajectory of lies and illusion in which he becomes a character out of the common. He manages to infiltrate into the Resistance and devises a dangerous game to reconstruct his past. He soon attains a high position in the French occupation zone in Germany.
