Bringing up Girls in BohemiaBased on the novel by writer Michael Viewegh, one of the most popular authors in the Czech Republic, the film tells the story of Oscar, a professor who endeavors to write a book. With no money, he accepts a job as tutor to the Král family. In the course of time, he becomes more than just a professor assisting a young teenager with her Grammar lessons. He becomes involved in a sudden passion for the woman who begins to unfold - and this will lead him to a tragic fate.

Petr Koliha

Born in 1956 in Prague. He graduated in cinema from the Prague Film School. He began a career in theater and went on to work for the Czech television. His first feature was The Gentle Barbarian (1989), based on a novel by Bohumil Hrabal. From 1990 until 1995, he worked as a TV producer and lent support to many filmmakers starting off on a career. Bringing Up Girls in Bohemia is his second feature.
