21º Mostra Internacional de Cinema Competition New Filmakers
ALORS, VIOLÁ

France

Alors, VioláConstantin has three children, three families, and several grandchildren. The oldest is a long-distance truck driver, the second an accountant, and the youngest, a plumber who is in hospital after attempted suicide.

A pitiless patriarch, Constantin keeps his descendants under constant vigilance. The three children live in identical apartments in the same buildings. Constantin, in turn, lives in a railway carriage, to confirm his eccentricity. He lives from shady work and deals: a truck is his business, a shop his storehouse, and his grandchildren his accomplices. The relationship of Constantin with the three families is violent, fond, brutal, tender, a jig-saw divided between silence and fury. They live in a world where all is possible. Constantin and his grandchildren go out at at night on petty theft raids, a couple makes love on a bed on display in a furniture store, and presents are wrapped in fine multicolored paper. A universe where their crazy desire make all magic.
